Robert Schmidt was appointed Chief, Office of Technology Services at the California Department of Technology in September 2015. With his leadership in a span of over 22 years of State IT service, he has been influential in the area of technology-related decisions and changes across internal and external stakeholders statewide, including state departments, boards, and commissions. Robert was previously Agency Chief Information Officer and Director of Executive Office/IT Services for the California Department of Food & Agriculture. In in his prior roles at California Department of Technology and Franchise Tax Board, he developed a reputation for successful execution of large-scale, complex projects and programs. With a Master of Business Administration from California State University at Sacramento, and Bachelor of Computer Science from California State University at Chico, Rob’s academic achievements are a true fusion of business and technology.
