Borough president is an elective office in each of the five boroughs of New York City. For most of the city`s history, the office exercised significant executive powers within each borough, and the five borough presidents also sat on the New York City Board of Estimate. Since 1990, the borough presidents have been stripped of a majority of their powers in the government of New York City.
As the largest provider of public transportation in San Diego County, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is committed to providing exceptional service to the people of the San Diego region. Every year more than 95 million people ride MTS buses and Trolleys. We have more than 80 fixed-route bus lines and 54 miles of Trolley service. Since 1969, USAMRIID has provided leading edge medical capabilities to deter and defend against current and emerging biological threat agents. The Institute is the only laboratory in the Department of Defense equipped to safely study highly hazardous viruses requiring maximum containment at Biosafety Level 4. Research conducted at USAMRIID leads to vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, and training programs that protect both Warfighters and civilians. The Institute`s unique science and technology base serves not only to address current threats to our Armed Forces but is an essential element in the medical response to any future biological threats that may confront our nation.

State Party Members and County Chairman serve on the State Party and elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman to a four-year term. State Party Members also elect a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman to represent Pennsylvania on the Republican National Committee to elect a National Chairman.
