Sacramento, CA-based California Department of Food and Agriculture Promoted Kevin Masuhara as Acting Chief Information Officer

Kevin Masuhara, deputy secretary of administration and finance for the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), will serve as the department’s acting CIO as a replacement is recruited. Masuhara will fill in for Robert Schmidt, who left CDFA earlier this month when he was appointed by the governor to the position of Office of Technology Services chief. At CDFA the last eight years, Masuhara previously was a director of marketing services and county-state liaison. A UC Davis alumnus, Masuhara was a managing general partner for 16 years at his family farm based in West Sacramento. Schmidt was agency CIO at the Department of Food and Agriculture for the past four years.
