About the Person

For more than 31 years David has served as an executive, technologist, and thought leader for the architecture, engineering, and life cycle management of information systems and solutions for some of the nation's leading enterprises in the healthcare, financial services, and electric utility sectors. As Chief Information Officer for Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) in Silver City, New Mexico, he is accountable for all aspects of strategy and operations for business and clinical solutions at New Mexico’s only Planetree-affiliated hospital. Under his leadership, GRMC was recognized in 2009 by HIMSS Analytics as the 50th hospital of 5,170 hospitals in North America and the first hospital in New Mexico to achieve Stage 6 designation under the EMR Adoption Model. David is a respected speaker, author, and healthcare issues advocate. He is a Certified Healthcare CIO, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Senior Quality Examiner, past President of the New Mexico Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and a member of the FBI’s InfraGard alliance through which he works to help safeguard the public health and emergency services infrastructures for the State of New Mexico and the nation.
