About the Person

Todd Papaioannou joins Splunk from Data Collective Venture Capital (DCVC), a venture capital firm where he was an entrepreneur-in-residence. Prior to DCVC, he was co-founder and CEO of Continuuity, an early stage big data startup. Papaioannou also worked at Yahoo! serving as vice president, chief cloud architect and distinguished fellow responsible for driving the technical and strategic direction of the Yahoo! Cloud and Hadoop teams. He was instrumental in the spinoff of HortonWorks from Yahoo! and still serves on HortonWorks' board of advisors. Prior to Yahoo!, Papaioannou spent five years at Teradata, holding positions including CTO of client software and vice president, architecture and emerging technologies. Prior to Teradata, he was chief architect and director of engineering at Greenplum, Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence and distributed systems from Loughborough University in the U.K.
