About the Person

Steven Hartman is Chief Technology Officer for the Power Generation Services business in GE Power & Water. He is responsible for providing life cycle technology solutions and support for the global business; including technology development for new products, repairs, inspection, monitoring & diagnostics, remote services, and performance solutions.   He joined GE as a Reliability Engineer in 1998, in Schenectady, New York, and in 1999 moved to Greenville, South Carolina as Manager of Systems Reliability Engineering. He became a certified Black Belt in 2002. In 2003, he transferred to Atlanta, Georgia to develop the engineering team to support GE’s Contractual Services business in Energy Services. He was then appointed General Manager of Gas Turbine Services Engineering before being named to his current position.   Prior to GE, Mr. Hartman worked for a power generation reliability engineering company, which included a European expansion to provide worldwide support to the major power generation manufacturers, including GE.   A graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York, Mr. Hartman holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
