About the Person

As CIO, Stephen Brown oversees the day-to-day operations of the information technology department, and leads efforts in strategic planning, data warehouse management, and both internal and external partnerships. Prior to joining Diplomat in September 2014, Steve served as an executive consultant, specializing in the development of technology architectures and organizational solutions, as well as client acquisition and business development. Steve’s career history includes a number of executive leadership roles, including CIO positions at Omnicare, Carlson Companies, Micron Electronics and Imation. Today, Steve serves as a board adviser for several companies, providing expertise on operations, information technology, sales and marketing, and executive leadership. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in management information systems from the Naval Post Graduate Institute. He also enjoyed a decade-long career in the United States Marine Corps, where he specialized in data processing and earned promotions and commendations throughout his tenure.
