About the Company

SPAR is a supplier of merchandising and marketing services throughout the US and internationally US Services Division The Company`s US Services Division provides nationwide merchandising and other marketing services primarily on behalf of consumer product manufacturers and retailers at mass merchandisers, electronics store chains, drug store chains and grocery stores. Merchandising services primarily consist of scheduled dedicated routed services and special projects provided at the store level for a specific retailer or single or multiple manufacturers. These services may include activities such as ensuring that client products authorized for distribution are in stock and on the shelf, adding new products that are approved for distribution but not presently on the shelf, setting category shelves in accordance with approved store schematics, ensuring that shelf tags are in place, checking for the overall salability of products and setting new and promotional items and placing and/or removing point of purchase and other related media advertising. In-store services can be initiated by retailers or manufacturers, and include new store openings, new product launches, special seasonal or promotional merchandising, focused product support and product recalls International Merchandising Services Division In 2001, the Company established its Japanese subsidiary to provide the latest in-store merchandising and marketing services to that market. Since 2003, the Company has expanded its international presence to Canada, South Africa, India, China, Australia, Turkey and Mexico and operates in 9 countries whose population represents approximately 47% of the total world population. Key to the Company`s international strategy is the conversion of its proprietary Internet-based logistical, communications and reporting software applications into the native language of any market the Company enters. The Company is actively pursuing expansion into various other markets.

 

About the Person

Panos Mastrogiannis serves as the Chief Information Officer of SPAR Group, Inc., as of April 2014, having been with the company since 1998.   He is responsible for development and administration of the IT operating budgets, capital expenditures, compliance and Sarbanes Oxley, while remaining focused on developing next generation technology solutions for SPAR and its clients. This includes leading the development and implementation of SPAR’s proprietary SPARtrac™ Retail Service Operations System.    Panos started at SPAR as a software developer, however through the years he has also managed research, field personnel and Client Services. These experiences have given him a great perspective on how to develop adaptive technology that continually improves SPAR’s services.    Recognized as an expert in the field, Panos has been a guest speaker at the World Alliance for Retail Excellence & Standards (formerly NARMS) and is an adjunct professor. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from SUNY New Paltz, an MBA in Information Systems and several certifications including for RFID and SQL.   When he’s not developing programs or future developers, you can find Panos enjoying a well-developed love for football – both types – and enjoying time with his family. And, if you want to know the Greek word that any technology term stems from, just ask this native of Greece.
