Sworn in on January 9, 2011, George Gascón became District Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco. He is the first former Chief of Police to ever hold the position and the first Latino District Attorney in San Francisco`s history. Prior to being sworn in as District Attorney on January 9, 2011, George Gascón led the San Francisco Police Department, having assumed the position of Chief of Police on August 7, 2009. Previously, Mr. George Gascón was the Chief of Police for the Mesa Police Department in Arizona for three years.
Town Hall in Newington CT - Newington was part of the Town of Wethersfield until 1871. Early names for the area were “Pipestave Swamp,” then “Cow Plain,” and later, “West Farms.” These reflected its use first as a source of staves for making “pipes” (large sized barrels) used in colonial trade, then a pasture for cattle, and eventually, the new farms taken up by descendants of early Wethersfield settlers who had been given grants on the western frontier of their riverside town. By 1721 there were enough new farmers on these grants to request that the General Assembly of the Colony of Connecticut give them the name “Newington.”

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is a regional government agency based in West Palm Beach, Fla. The agency`s core mission is to manage and protect water resources in 16 counties from Orlando to the Florida Keys by balancing and improving flood control, water quality, natural systems and water supply. It is the oldest and largest of the state`s five water management districts. The SFWMD manages and protects water resources on behalf of 8.1 million South Floridians, and is the lead agency in restoring America`s Everglades – the largest environmental project in the nation`s history.
Scott County was the fastest growing county in the state of Minnesota for the last couple of decades, with a 45% increase in total population. The 2010 U.S. Census estimated the county`s population at 129,928. This figure is expected to increase by 100,000 persons by the year 2030, according to Metropolitan Council population forecasts. Scott County has a land area of 365 square miles and is bound on the west and north by the Minnesota River. The Minnesota River supported the county`s fur trading, lumbering, and farming industries in the 1800s. Today, Scott County enjoys a growing mix of commercial, industrial, and housing development, yet also maintains its rural flavor.
