About the Person

Mr. Smith joined CarMax as one of the company's founding associates. He began working on the original concept for CarMax in 1991, while at Circuit City. He held various positions in technology and operations throughout his tenure with CarMax and was promoted to senior vice president and chief information office in 2006. Prior to joining CarMax, he worked in various roles for Circuit City.
