Columbia, MD-based MIE Labs has Appointed Phuong Huynh as Chief Technology Officer
MIE Labs will be your preferred partner for integrated electronics product development. We work in partnership with customers, vendors and associates to provide optimal solutions for the most technically challenging product developments. Services include analog/mixed-signal IC design and development, expert consulting and product development.
Phuong Huynh is currently CTO and co-founder of MIE Labs. He previously joined XtremeSpectrum, Inc., a startup in Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) wireless technology, in 2000, as director of the RF IC group. He was in charge of the UWB transceiver design and has pioneered two generations of UWB chipsets based on the Gaussian-monocycle Bi-phase modulation and Direct Sequence CDMA. XtremeSpectrum was acquired by Motorola in 2003 and spun off as part of Freescale Semiconductor, where he served as manager of the UWB RFIC group. In 2006, Dr. Huynh joined PowerPrecise, Inc., a startup specialized in power management ICs, as the technical lead of analog IC design. The company was acquired by Texas Instruments in late 2007, where he remained the technical lead in charge of multi-cell high-voltage power management ICs for automotive applications. Dr. Huynh left Texas Instruments in 2012 and founded Adtel Design, LLC, to focus in leading-edge technologies in digital-RF wireless communication ICs. Prior to his role at XtremeSpectrum, he served as senior member of technical staff at both Philips Research in 1995, and Cadence Design Systems in 1997, where he has worked on various ICs encompassing mixed signal, RF, and high performance ADCs and DACs. He received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. all in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1990, 1992, and 1994, respectively. During his graduate studies, his main research emphasized analysis and design of power electronics circuits and non-linear system stability. He is the holder of fifteen patents in the area of analog IC design, and currently has twelve pending patents on RF bandpass-sampling communication receivers.
