The railway is among the world`s top transporters of intermodal traffic, serves more grain-producing regions than any other railroad, transports the components of many of the products we depend on daily, and hauls enough low-sulphur coal to generate about 10 percent of the electricity produced in the United States. On Feb. 12, 2010, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
