The Kenner Business Association fosters leadership and the advancement of the community vision. We strive to provide, encourage, and promote our member businesses. Our mission is to provide a network exchange for professional and commercial enhancement as well as a multitude of opportunities for economic growth, in addition to the development of community services. The outstanding members provide the opportunity for recognition by the public and your peers. Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children and families in Western Mass since 1938. As a comprehensive service system, with a focus on delivering professional services to those with mental illness, substance use disorders or intellectual disabilities, BHN`s funding sources are diverse. BHN holds contracts with the Departments of Mental Health, Public Health, Developmental Disabilities, Youth Services, and Medicaid, along with cities, towns, and various Federal departments. BHN also contracts with most health insurance companies. BHN and its programs have been instrumental in development of new services and meeting the behavioral health needs of the Pioneer Valley. We serve the most challenging individuals, utilize evidenced-based treatment models, and collaborate well with healthcare, social service organizations and educational systems to promote integrated quality services to individuals and their families.
The Slippery Rock University Student Government Association, Inc. (SRSGA) is an independent corporation on campus with a roughly two-million dollar budget. SRSGA serves as the governing body to most clubs and organizations at Slippery Rock University. SRSGA recognizes over one hundred organizations and provides budgets for most. Also, SRSGA helps fund the majority of Slippery Rock Athletics, runs a Child Care facility on campus, manages the campus bus service, and owns the university book store.
Starfish Initiative inspires, encourages, and prepares promising, economically disadvantaged students for college and career success. To achieve this goal, Starfish pairs economically disadvantaged high school students one-on-one with college-educated mentors.
Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is headquartered in Roanoke and serves 35 counties and 14 cities in Central, Southwest, and Southside, Virginia. Its vision is to eliminate poverty through the mission of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and inspiring communities. In 2021, Goodwill served 38,446 youth, adults, and seniors, placed 670 people into jobs in our community, and helped individuals attain 2,949 industry recognized credentials allowing them to be more competitive in their job search and to find higher paying employment.
