The government of Illinois, under the Constitution of Illinois, has three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. The executive branch is split into several statewide elected offices, with the Governor as chief executive, and has numerous departments, agencies, boards and commissions. The Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA) is a not-for-profit, member-owned and operated risk management and self-insurance pool designed by and expressly for Nebraska counties. Created in 1988 under the Intergovernmental Risk Management Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. 44-4301 to 44-4339) and the Interlocal Cooperation Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. 13-801), NIRMA is subject to all applicable rules and regulations of the Nebraska Department of Insurance. Under the NIRMA flagship there are actually two pools – NIRMA, which provides property and general liability coverages, and NIRMA II, which offers workers` compensation coverage. NIRMA began with 32 counties as charter members. Today, NIRMA serves 95 members.
At the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), we come into contact with nearly every Floridian as well as many visitors to our state. People get a driver license to operate their vehicles or for photo identification purposes. They register and title their automobiles, mobile homes, and boats. They may receive assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol if they are involved in a crash or their vehicle breaks down along Florida`s highways. Often the Patrol will remind drivers to slow down and buckle up. There is more to DHSMV than meets the eye. Our mission is to provide highway safety and security through excellence in service, education and enforcement. Our department members around the state are dedicated to accomplishing this mission.
