Rhode Island and Providence Plantations,more commonly referred to as Rhode Island, is a state in the New England region of the United States. It is the smallest U.S. state by area. Rhode Island borders Connecticut to the west and Massachusetts to the north and east. Rhode Island also shares a water border with New York`s Long Island to the southwest.

Grand County is located in southeastern Utah and was originally named for the Colorado River, which at the time was known as the Grande River. Its county seat and largest city is Moab. As of 2000 the population was 8,485, and by 2005 it was estimated to be 8,743.
