The new Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH) opened in Spring 2015. As a private non-profit, the safety-net hospital delivers high quality, collaborative care to South Los Angeles and surrounding communities in partnership with the County of Los Angeles, University of California and other community providers. The Board of Directors of Martin Luther King, Jr. – Los Angeles Healthcare Corporation (MLK-LA), which governs and operates the new community hospital, is committed to establishing a national model that focuses on patient-centered care.
In addition to delivering excellent care and service, we want to inspire people to see their health in a new way. More than doctor visits and medical tests, but a lifelong journey of small, manageable steps. Our goal is to empower the people we serve to take a few of those steps every day to achieve their best health. And there`s no better time to start than today.
