About the Company

About the Person
Mike Ressler was appointed Chief Information Officer of the state's Information Technology Department by Governor Jack Dalrymple in October 2013. As CIO, he oversees technology activities in state government and education, and ensures that ITD fulfills its mission and its legislative responsibilities. Ressler started working for ITD in September of 1984, and since 1997, served as the Deputy CIO and Director of Operations, responsible for the administration and management of all operational functions providing centralized information technology services. Before coming to ITD, he worked for a regional CPA firm in Bismarck. Ressler received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in accounting and business administration from the University of Mary in 1983. In 1992, he received a third major in computer information systems. In 2002, he attended Harvard University and received a certificate in Driving Government Performance from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Ressler is both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Computing Professional. He is a member of the North Dakota State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Certified Computing Professionals. Ressler and his wife, Kathy, have three sons and enjoy walking, golfing, bowling and spending time as a family.
