About the Person
Michael Restuccia, senior vice president and CIO of Penn Medicine, is responsible for maintaining and building on the center’s implementation of technology and innovation to advance patient care. Under Restuccia’s leadership, the Penn Medicine IS team placed fourth in the 2016 Information Week Elite 100 — up five spots from 2015. The team is also a consistent “Most Wired” award winner and was acknowledged as a “Most Connected Hospital” by the American Hospital Association in 2015. Restuccia has over 25 years of healthcare information technology experience. Previously, he served as president of MedMatica Consulting Associates. Additionally, he was interim CIO for several healthcare organizations, including Phoenixville Hospital, Doylestown Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. In 2016, he was recognized by Computerworld as a Top 100 CIO. Additionally, he received a Smart CXO award, as a leading CIO, from Philadelphia Smart CEO magazine in 2012. Restuccia achieved a bachelor of science degree from Rider University and a master’s in business administration from Villanova University. He serves as a board member for the HealthShare Information Exchange, a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group and sits on the Healthcare IT Institute and Information Week advisory committee.
