The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for establishing strategic marketing priorities to support this vision and maximize the Health System`s reach throughout the market footprint and beyond. She/He will work closely and collaboratively with Penn Medicine`s senior leadership team, including the respective Entity CEOs, Department and Service Line leadership, Chief Medical Information Officer, Chief Information Officer, SVP for Public Affairs, as well as other stakeholders in developing comprehensive and distinguishing marketing initiatives that are consistent with the overall strategic plan.
The successful candidate will be seasoned, accomplished and has demonstrated effectiveness as a senior-level executive working in a highly matrixed and relationship-driven culture.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Business Development for UPHS, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) will have overall responsibility across the system for the successful development, coordination, implementation and advancement of integrated marketing plans for the enterprise.
The core responsibilities will include:
• Provide strategic leadership for all marketing planning and operations across the enterprise.
• Develop and execute marketing plans that continuously position Penn Medicine as the market leader across its regional footprint.
• Execute differentiated plans that are attuned to characteristics, strengths and needs of local hospitals and communities.
• Optimize Penn Medicine`s digital /social media resources to expand its leadership position in multi-channel precision and digital marketing, productivity and ROI metric-driven award-winning campaigns, as well as maintaining a competitive media mix with mass media awareness campaigns.
• Provide creative leadership and support to the marketing team and continuously strengthen the marketing infrastructure.
• Develop marketing plans and budgets to meet operational expectations and ROI. Aligns plans to support the core enterprise as well as affiliated organizations.
• Provide strategic and thought leadership to a highly capable and talented internal team with proven ability to execute complex and creative campaigns.
Minimum Requirements
Requirements for this position include:
Bachelor`s Degree
Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred
Five or more years` experience leading the marketing strategy programs in a complex organization.
