Dallas, TX-based SuperMedia appointed Michael Dunn as Chief Information Officer.
SuperMedia LLC (formerly Idearc Media, pronounced EYE-dee-arc) is a marketing company based in Dallas, Texas. It provides print, mobile, and internet advertising to small- and medium-sized businesses. The company emerged from the bankruptcy of Idearc Media in January 2010. Since its merger with Dex One Corporation in April 2013, SuperMedia has operated as a subsidiary of Dex Media, Inc.
Michael Dunn is Dex Media’s Chief Technology Officer, responsible for managing the delivery and support of technology solutions that enable the online, mobile, print, and social network distribution of advertising for clients of Dex Media. He oversees Dex Media’s technology strategy, architecture, infrastructure, application engineering and maintenance for all information systems within the enterprise. Dunn also has responsibility for the development and support of digital products that are offered by Dex Media including Superpages.com®, DexKnows.com® and the Superpages® and DexKnows Mobile® mobile applications. He is charged with leading digital product development as well as rationalizing the IT systems and operations supporting Dex Media as the leader in local advertising for small and medium businesses. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer of SuperMedia Inc. from April 2010 to April 2013. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Business Process Management at Level 3 Communications from April 2005 to April 2010. Prior to his role at Level 3, he held various positions at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, and Convergent Group. Dunn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Accounting and Information Technology and Operations Management from Southern Methodist University. He is involved in DFW SIM, and is a member of the SMU Cox Business School Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) Advisory Board, Evanta Dallas CIO Executive Summit Governing Body, and Evanta Texas CIO Institute Leadership Board. He was recognized by CIO Magazine as “One to Watch” in 2010 and by Evanta as a 2012 Top 10 Breakaway Leader.
