New York, NY-based Invendo Medical has Appointed Martin Giersiepen as Chief Technology Officer

 

About the Company

Invendo Medical aims to become a globally leading developer and distributor of disposable, highly flexible and easy-to-use endoscopy products in the field of gastroenterology. Innovation activity in gastroenterological endoscopy has in the past decades nearly exclusively focused on the improvement of optical capabilities. However, Invendo Medical´s goal is to improve patient compliance and thereby increase the number of procedures performed. In order to achieve its goal the company first focussed on an application in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancers (CRC). CRC is the second leading cause of cancer death with an estimated annual worldwide death toll of 510,000 people. More than 1 million new cases are diagnosed every year. However 90-100% of colorectal cancers can be avoided if diagnosed early on

 

About the Person

After his doctorate (Technical University of Aachen), Martin Giersiepen got well known in the medtech community for his research of blood damage caused by implants (Giersiepen Equation). During his industry career he conducted senior management roles at Beiersdorf, EOS, Braun and Soehnle in particular with diagnostic products. He gained a 2bn-turnover with his development of Braun dental products. For mass volume manufacturers Rowenta and Leifheit, more than 60 products started the production under his responsibility at plants in Singapore, China and Mexiko. Martin Giersiepen was NPI Director with international R&D centers in Californien and Great Britain, and with General Management he lead the German site of Camera Dynamics/Vitec PLC. In his own engineering bureau dbc Beratende Ingenieure he conducts product developments with his engineering groups. With his consulting in optimization of company processes and in ‚Design for Production‘ Martin Giersiepen came to invendo medical in February 2012 and is now on board as Chief Technology Officer.
