Grand Forks, ND-based Altru Health System Promoted Mark Waind as Chief Information Officer
Altru Health System is a community-owned, integrated system with an acute care hospital, a specialty hospital, more than a dozen clinics in Grand Forks and the region, a large home care network, and a congregate living facility. It employs more than 200 physicians and 4,000 staff and has an annual net operating revenue of more than $450 million. As the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Altru’s providers have access to clinically integrated tools extending Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise to patients.
Mark Waind joined Altru`s information services team in 1997, serving as the customer support manager through 2006, then as the administrative director of information services until accepting the chief information officer position. In this new role, Waind will guide the implementation and integration of information technology throughout the health system, an integral part of Altru`s vision of delivering world-class care to the residents of our region. Waind earned a degree in business management from the University of North Dakota. He serves as the North Dakota Health Information Management and Systems Society chapter president and is a member of the Minnesota Epic User Group board of directors. Waind is active in the community as an AWANA Leader at Faith Evangelical Free Church. He and his wife Cindy have three sons.
