About the Person
Mr. Murray has been Chief Information Officer of AXA Financial Inc., since March 2005 and serves as its Executive Vice President. He served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer of AXA UK since November 24, 2010. Mr. Murray served as the Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co., until November 24, 2010. Mr. Murray joined AXA Equitable Life Insurance in 2006, and managed and directs information technology operations that include strategy, financial management, vendor management, process improvement, business analysis, quality assurance and project management. Mr. Murray also served as Senior Vice President and Head of Carrier's Application Continuity Team at Axa Financial Inc. Mr. Murray served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Domestic Claims, Litigation & Personal Lines at American International Group, Inc. Previously, he held a number of leadership roles in the technology industry and has significant experience in delivering strategic and cost-efficient IT solutions. He served as Chief Information Officer for Domestic General Insurance and held senior Information Technology positions at both J.P. Morgan and Cap Cities / ABC. He has won the following awards: Irish American magazine's Wall Street Top 50 Leaders-2009; Insurance & Technology magazine's 2009 Elite 8 award; IBM's top Platinum Partnership award; Information Week 500's Top 250 Innovators award in 2006, 2007 and 2009; Wall Street & Technology's Profiles in Excellence for Most Influential Technology Executives award; and the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development's (ACORD) Outstanding Achievement in Business Enterprise Architecture award. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science with an emphasis in finance at Penn State University.
