Kevin M. Kern is the Chief Information Officer for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Washington, D.C. As the agency`s top technology administrator, Mr. Kern will work to enable ICE to meet its dynamic operational and strategic information technology needs drawing on his significant experiences culled from a career in military service, the government and the private sector. Mr. Kern is a proven and accomplished visionary and strategic leader in driving global transformation and performance in highly complex and difficult environments. He has over 30 years of experience and proven leadership in global operations and technology in various industries including high technology, healthcare, financial services and manufacturing. Mr. Kern led major organizational realignments and created an operations and technology operating model focused on alignment with simplified points of contact, improved product development capabilities and enhanced customer support. He has consolidated data and global command centers resulting in reduced cost and complexity, streamlined operations and improved performance. Previously, he served as Vice President and CIO for Unisys. Mr. Kern has a Master`s in Business Administration from Wilkes University and was named by CIO Magazine as a Top 100 Innovators Award in 2007.
