Columbia, SC-based South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has appointed John Supra as chief information officer.
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) administers Healthy Connections, the states Medicaid program. Healthy Connections is a joint state-federal program that provides health care for about 1 million low-income, elderly and disabled residents each year.
Supra brings a significant background and experience in enterprise software development with an emphasis in modern web-based technologies. Most recently, he was vice president and chief technology officer at DigitalFusion where he was responsible the design, development and operations of DFStudio, a leading online application for the professional photography industry. Prior to DigitalFusion, he was a vice president at Resource Directory Group where he oversaw the database development and publishing operations for a series of social service resource guides. Supra has also served as vice president and chief technologist for the OnStation Corporation [subsequently acquired by Cobalt/ADP] where he led the application development and technical operations for an online solution that delivers customer relationship management in the automotive industry. Supra holds bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
