Joe Berding is vice president and CTO for Xerox Business Services. In this role, he is responsible for all solution architecture and consulting efforts surrounding Xerox's new IT and Business Services offerings for State Government clients. Berding--a 25-year veteran of the IT industry who joined ACS in 2003--has extensive experience in multiple disciplines, including software, systems and services. He has strong business and analytical skills that have been used to leverage and optimize business performance, as well as a demonstrated ability to quickly mobilize and transform teams to deliver quality objectives on time. Prior to accepting his current role, he was vice president of technology and CTO for ACS. In this position, he worked with clients and partners to develop solutions that brought value and competitive advantage to the client's IT and business units. He's also worked in service delivery at ACS, including roles in enterprise storage, midrange and mainframe. His previous experience includes founding Arkwave Software, a software and services company that developed and marketed workflow products for specific industry verticals and business processes. He also was with Dell, where he was director of the Dell Online team and in the Product Group as a founding member of the Dell Enterprise Storage Group. He began his IT career with IBM, where his assignments included program director of the AIX Networking and Storage Development Group. Berding earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Cincinnati and performed graduate-level coursework in engineering at Syracuse University. He also studied at the Management Institute for Executives at the University of Texas at Austin.
