About the Company

Our first patient stepped through our doors more than 50 years ago. Some of our first associates are still living in the community, or are part of our volunteer program. They have fond memories of those first days, but are even more inspired — and even awed — by the changes that have occurred over the past five decades. Carroll Hospital Center has evolved significantly from a community hospital to become a true medical center — on par with larger urban hospitals. But still, we’re different and — we think —special. Why? We wouldn’t be here without our community. In fact, our community created us. Fifty years ago, a small group of Carroll County citizens gathered and began fundraising for a hospital. Today, the fruits of their endeavors are beyond what even they expected. Top-notch programs and services like our Family Birthplace, skilled home care, our Imaging Center through a partnership with Advanced Radiology, and the Carroll Regional Cancer Center are well beyond what was planned. Our communities expect and deserve superior medical treatment, compassionate care, and expert guidance in maintaining their health and well-being.  At Carroll Hospital Center, we offer an uncompromising commitment to the highest quality health care experience for people in all stages of life.  We are the heart of health care in our communities.

About the Person

Jennifer Moore is interim Chief Information Officer at Carroll Hospital Center, a private, nonprofit 195-bed hospital in Westminster, Maryland. She originally joined the hospital in September 1993 as Assistant Information Systems Manager, charged with coordinating computer projects and implementing new systems to record and analyze financial data. After being promoted to IS Manager in January 1994, she remained with the hospital for another year before leaving in February 1996 to hold senior IT positions at first Medstar Health (formerly Helix Health) and then Inova Health Systems. Moore joined Healthcare Information Consultants in November 2001. She is now a Principal with the consultancy. She rejoined Carroll Hospital Center in 2013 as CIO on an interim basis, through her consultancy.  Before her first stint at Carroll Hospital, Moore - who earned a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from George Washington University - held various IT positions of increasing responsibility at the Daughters of Charity National Health System. Before that she spent four years as a Loan Officer and Mortgage Banker with the Cameron-Brown Company in Rockville, Maryland. While pursuing her post-graduate studies at George Washington, she served a 12-month administrative residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, rotating through clinical and financial departments.
