They have fond memories of those first days, but are even more inspired — and even awed — by the changes that have occurred over the past five decades. Carroll Hospital Center has evolved significantly from a community hospital to become a true medical center — on par with larger urban hospitals. But still, we’re different and — we think —special. Why? We wouldn’t be here without our community. In fact, our community created us. Fifty years ago, a small group of Carroll County citizens gathered and began fundraising for a hospital. Today, the fruits of their endeavors are beyond what even they expected. Top-notch programs and services like our Family Birthplace, skilled home care, our Imaging Center through a partnership with Advanced Radiology, and the Carroll Regional Cancer Center are well beyond what was planned.
