White Plains, NY-based BA-Insight appointed Jeff Fried as Chief Technology Officer
BA Insight`s software portfolio accelerates and future-proofs the creation of cloud-based and on-premise SharePoint portals for enterprises, transforming how users find information. Our software dramatically reduces the time, cost, effort, and risk of implementing SharePoint portals while providing a greatly improved user experience. Customers use our applications to improve productivity by finding the right information faster using Smart Previews and User-Generated InfoSites; our classification software to increase findability using auto-tagging, metadata generation, and text analytics; and our pre-built connectors and federation to provide secure connectivity to a wide variety of content systems.
Jeff Fried is a long-standing search, text analytics, and cognitive computing nerd, dating back to a semantic search startup called LingoMotors in the late `90s. He`s probably best known for his work with SharePoint, due in part to having worked at FAST Search and at Microsoft (where he was responsible for integrating the FAST technology into SharePoint, and co-authoring 3 books on SharePoint Search and SharePoint Development. Jeff is a frequent speaker and writer in the industry; holds 15 patents; and has authored more than 50 technical papers. For the last 7 years, he`s been the CTO of BA Insight – he says CTO stands for “Chief Troublemaking Officer”.
