Cleveland, OH-based U.S Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has Appointed Jawahar Kaliani as Deputy Chief Information Officer

 

About the Company

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks and federal savings associations. The OCC also supervises the federal branches and agencies of foreign banks. Our goal in supervising banks and federal savings associations is to ensure that they operate in a safe and sound manner and in compliance with laws requiring fair treatment of their customers and fair access to credit and financial products. The OCC is an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The President, with the advice and consent of the U.S. Senate, appoints the Comptroller to head the agency for a five-year term. The Comptroller also is a director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and NeighborWorks® America. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the OCC has four district offices plus an office in London to supervise the international activities of national banks. The OCC`s nationwide staff of bank examiners conducts on-site reviews of national banks and federal savings associations (or federal thrifts) and provides sustained supervision of these institutions` operations.

 

About the Person

Jawahar Kaliani is the Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Application Services Delivery (ASD) at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). In this role, Mr. Kaliani leads the development and implementation of complex applications to deliver secure business solutions that meet the organizational priorities and support the agency’s mission of ensuring the safety and soundness of national banks and federal savings associations. He assumed these responsibilities in May 2014. Mr. Kaliani joined the OCC from Amdocs, Inc., where he served most recently as Vice President of Customer Operations Management leading the development, execution, and delivery of large-scale services and business technology solutions supporting major telecommunications clients who managed more than $30 billion in annual billing. He has 20 years of experience delivering, building, and managing applications in a managed services environment to meet the goals of industry leaders. Mr. Kaliani holds an executive MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a bachelor of engineering in information technology (IT) and electronics from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai, India, and a diploma of engineering in IT and electronics from BIT in Mumbai, India.
