About the Person
Gina Garza is a senior-level IT professional with expertise in leading large IT organizations and large-scale business transformation through innovative uses of information technology. She has over 25 years of experience in the federal government, spanning business, finance, and information technology management. Ms. Garza currently leads the Program Management Office responsible for planning, development, testing, and implementation of the IT solutions necessary to support the IRS’ role in carrying out key provisions of the Affordable Care Act legislation.
Immediately prior to this assignment, Ms. Garza led the IRS Applications Development organization. In this position, she led over 2,300 employees in locations across the country in the design, development, test, implementation and maintenance of approximately 400 tax administration and financial management applications. Ms. Garza’s unique blend of business and IT program management experience have enabled her to shape and guide major modernization efforts for the IRS. She is an IT executive who is at her best when working side-by-side with her business customers, balancing their needs with the goals and objectives of the organization.
