The City of Knox is located in Center Township and is the county seat for Starke County, Indiana. The population was 3,721 in the 2000 census. The city was founded in 1851 and named after General Henry Knox. Knox was also the home of Indiana Governor Henry F. Schricker. The City of Knox even has its own flag, designed by Raluca Fodorean.

The county is bordered on the west by the St. Croix River, a federally designated wild and scenic river, with the magnificent St. Croix Dalles forming the heart of Interstate State Park. Peacefully rural in nature, the county has no city with a population over 3,000. Polk County was organized in 1853, and over the past decade has been one of the fastest-growing counties in Wisconsin. It has a diverse economy with a mix of agriculture, tour-ism, manufacturing, and services. Its proximity to a large metropolitan area has served to provide a ready market for goods produced here as well as a demand for recreational activities including boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, biking and skiing.

The Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC), is an independent state agency with statutory responsibility to represent customers of Connecticut`s five regulated utilities – electric, gas, water, telephone, and to some extent, cable television, primarily in matters that go before the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA). The OCC is authorized to participate on behalf of consumer interests in all administrative and judicial forums and in any matters in which the interests of consumers with respect to public utility matters may be involved.
