Platte County is a county located in the northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 89,322.
U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command has approximately 2,500 globally distributed military and civilian personnel, who collect, and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to guarantee the U.S. Navy`s freedom of operation in the physical battlespace from the depths of the ocean to the stars. The air, ocean, seafloor, stars, and time clearly matter for naval operations and our national security. Our forces provides home field advantage for our nation`s away team, the U.S. Navy. Through our people, capabilities, and innovation, we will expand on this advantage as we evolve into a critical component of a future holistic force. We consist of a ready force of well-qualified, well-educated and deliberately trained Sailors, civilians and contractors serving in a wide-range of operational, technical/scientific and service support billets around the globe. In addition, we provided accurate and timely knowledge of the current and predicted physical battlespace from the depths of the ocean to the stars - we provide data to decision makers. Lastly, we are the Department of Defense leader in innovating and transforming new technology into an operational advantage. An experienced early adopter of unmanned systems, we employ inventive ways to inform tactical decisions and depict information. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Qualitys (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used. As 1 of 12 agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, AHRQ supports research that helps people make more informed decisions and improves the quality of health care services. AHRQ was formerly known as the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research.
With the adoption of the City Charter in 1949, the council-manager form of government under which the City of Killeen currently operates was established. The mayor is the City`s chief elected officer, but has no administrative power. The mayor presides over the City`s seven member City Council, which sets all policy. The operations of the City are overseen by a city manager appointed by the council. The citizens elect a mayor and three council members at large. The other four council members represent specific districts of the City and are elected by voters living in their districts. Terms for the mayor and all council members are two years, with a three-consecutive-term limitation for each office. The City holds nonpartisan elections each May. The mayor and the at-large council members are elected in even-numbered years, and the four district council members are elected in odd-numbered years. The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation was created in 1966 to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the Cherokee Nation. Today, nearly fifty years later, we continue that original mission and are dedicated to providing housing assistance through a number of programs. Nearly 6,000 families are assisted with housing through the HACN on a number of programs. As a sub-recipient of NAHASDA funding for the Cherokee Nation we administer low-income rental housing, rental assistance, college housing, and manage a number of homes previously constructed with federal housing funds. Today, the HACN has renewed its commitment to providing new construction opportunities to Cherokee families. Through an innovative approach we offer a New Home Construction Program. This program uses funding outside of federal grant programs to provide housing. Preference is given to families that own their own land or has a family member that is willing to donate land for construction.
