About the Company

The company was founded in 1998 as Biomet Mining and became publicly traded as BioteQ Environmental Technologies in 2001 when the company secured its first commercial contract. About the Person

David Kratochvil was appointed BioteQ’s President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2008. In February 2012, David’s role transitioned to President & Chief Technology Officer, focusing on technology innovation and new market development. Previously, he served as BioteQ’s Vice President of Projects, responsible for overseeing the company’s engineering and development projects. Since joining the company in 2001 as Manager of Engineering, Dr. Kratochvil has been instrumental in the commercial development of the BioteQ’s process technologies, and has overseen plant design and operations. He holds a PhD from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering unit from McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Kratochvil has over 20 years of experience in the areas of wastewater treatment and chemical processing. Prior to joining BioteQ, he worked as the water treatment specialist for Rescan Environmental Services, one of the leading Canadian environmental consulting firms serving the mining industry worldwide. The highlights of David’s other work experience include research and development in papermaking and ion exchange industries in Montreal, process control in Toulouse, and phosphate fertilizer production in Turkey.
