About the Person

Carl Wilson serves as an Executive Advisor of Forté Ventures LP. Mr. Wilson served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of TradeSync Corporation. Mr. Wilson Founded Clearbridge, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President. He served as the Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Marriott International, Inc., from 1997 to January 2011. During his 14-year career with the company, he established the IT organization as a strategic business partner to the broader company by aligning the technology function with aggressive profit goals and implementing leading-edge technology to advance the global presence of Marriott. He joined Marriott in 1997, where he served as Vice President of Information Resources. He managed integrations in electrical distribution and building products companies nationwide. He served as IT Advisor of UST Global, Inc. He served as Vice President of Information Resources at Georgia-Pacific Corporation from December 1992 to March 1997 and served as its Chief Information Officer. During his 5-year tenure with the Georgia-Pacific, he standardized disparate systems during a period of multiple acquisitions. His guidance and leadership in the design and implementation of a unified, enterprise-wide structure, led to cost reductions, process improvements, and increased production, which facilitated exponential growth for Georgia-Pacific. He served as Senior Vice President of Management Information Services for the Food and International Retailing Sectors at Grand Metropolitan Plc and Vice President of Information Management for The Pillsbury Company, Inc. He has global accountability for all business information technology resources. Mr. Wilson served as a Senior Director of integration services with BuildPoint Corporation. He served as Director of Integration Services at BuildPoint and the Director of information systems at Rexel, Inc. and was responsible for all information systems efforts including EDI and e-commerce. He holds over 18 years experience in supply chain commerce. He has been a Director of FrontRange Solutions USA Inc. since September 2012; GXS Limited, GXS Worldwide, Inc. and GXS, Inc. (also known as Global eXchange Services, Inc.) since December 2003. He has been a Director of Rural Sourcing, Inc. since March 2015. He is an Advisory Board Member for the Center for CIO Leadership and Stryve Advisors, LLC. He serves as a Director of Enamics, Inc., GXS Group, Inc. and Mr. Arlo, Inc. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Business Technology Management Corporation. He served as an Independent Director of Rivermine Software, Inc. since October 18, 2005. He served as a Director of The Reader`s Digest Association Inc.; RDA Holding Co.; Tangram Enterprise Solutions Inc. since 1995 and Software Architects, Inc. He served as a Non Executive Director of BTM Corporation. He serves on various boards, including the Microsoft Global Executive Roundtable. He served as a Member of Advisory Board at UST Global, Inc. since February 2008. He served as a Member of Board of Advisors at IBM; Oracle CIO Advisory Board. He served on the Hewlett-Packard CIO Advisory Board. He was a Member of the AT&T Executive Customer Advisory Council. He served in the U.S. Army. He was awarded for his contribution to business and the global IT community, Carl has received multiple recognitions, including his induction into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2007, as well as “CIO 100“ from CIO for 16 years and “InformationWeek 500“ for 12 consecutive years. His IT management led Marriott International to win “Best Places to Work in IT“ (2003 to 2010), in addition to “Top 12 Green IT Companies“ (2008 to 2010) and “Best Practices in Business Intelligence“ (2008) by Computerworld. Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and an M.E.P. from the University of Minnesota.
