The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is the State of Minnesota`s principal economic development agency. Its mission includes supporting the economic success of individuals, businesses, and communities by improving opportunities for growth.
The mission of the OWRB is to enhance the quality of life for Oklahomans by managing, protecting, and improving the state`s water resources to ensure clean, safe, and reliable water supplies, a strong economy, and a healthy environment. OWRB`s primary duties and responsibilities include water use appropriation and permitting, water quality monitoring and standards, financial assistance for water/wastewater systems, dam safety, floodplain management, water supply planning, technical studies and research, and water resource mapping.
Ohio`s state government contains three branches elected by Ohio voters. The legislative branch makes laws, the executive branch administers laws and the judicial branch interprets and enforces laws. The legislative branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, collectively called the General Assembly. The executive branch includes the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Auditor of State, Secretary of State, Treasurer of State, State Board of Education, the governor`s cabinet, and boards and commissions whose members are appointed by the governor. Ohio`s judicial branch of government is comprised of the Supreme Court of Ohio and lower courts that all perform judicial functions for the people of Ohio.
The State Personnel Office is responsible for the administration and oversight of the classified service personnel system which consists of approximately 18,000 state employees from approximately 68 executive state agencies, boards and commissions. A comprehensive system of human resource management is achieved through the integration of five functional areas which are administered by the State Personnel Director with oversight by a five-member State Personnel Board. The primary responsibility of the Career Services Bureau is to ensure compliance with the State Personnel Act and the State Personnel Board (SPB) Rules which require the “certification of the highest standing candidates to prospective employers (10-9-13 F.).” Since November 2011, the State Personnel Office (SPO) has utilized the NEOGOV application system for management of recruitment for all classified positions.
