Green Tree School and Services

Green Tree School and Services (GTSS) is a nonprofit, state-licensed agency that provides education, therapeutic and clinical support to children ages 5-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Severe Emotional Disability. GTSS only serves children whose disabilities are such that they are unable to succeed in a school- based special education program or participate in out of school activities. Rates of both diagnosis are growing, with 1 in 68 children currently affected by Autism and 1 in 78 children affected by Emotional Disability. GTSS’ philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child should have the opportunity to learn the academic, social, emotional, and vocational and life skills they need to achieve resiliency and succeed in their learning, living and working environments. GTSS has worked with children and young adults with special needs since 1957, marking over a half century of Transforming Lives and Impacting Communities. GTSS offers a variety of on-site and off-site services to children with special needs, both directly and through their home school or district. The Approved Private School educates children whose disabilities prevent them from succeeding in a traditional special education program. Specialists work with children, in small groups or individually, to help students meet individual goals. The Outpatient Clinic provides psychiatric evaluation, case management and medication management services to students at the school. Consulting Services, also called Green Tree Partnerships, is an education consulting cooperative created by GTSS. Staff work collaboratively with a school or district and take on the management of portion of that school or district’s special education program. Students who exhibit signs of autism or emotional disabilities, but do not have a complete or up to date Individual Educational Plan, can receive Diagnostic Services from GTSS.

Delaware Health Information Network

In 2007 the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN) became the first live, statewide health information network in the nation. DHIN currently serves: - 100% of Delaware’s acute care hospitals - 100% of Delaware’s long term care and skilled nursing facilities - Approaching 100% of medical providers who have enrolled and are participating in DHIN More than 14,000,000 clinical results and reports are posted on DHIN each year – and the total patient records in the system now exceed 2,100,000, featuring patient records from all 50 states. In the six years that DHIN has been active, the system has proven its reliability and worth to hospitals, medical professionals and patients throughout Delaware. DHIN securely delivers fast and accurate patient information from hospitals, laboratories, and radiology facilities directly to doctors’ offices. DHIN makes it possible to deliver higher quality medical care more quickly, and at a lower cost, using a federated data model for medical records, aggregating those records and eliminating the manual transmittal of medical data. Frequent audits confirm that the system is secure and that data is used properly. The Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN) was enacted by the Delaware General Assembly in 1997 as a public-private partnership for the benefit of all citizens of Delaware to advance the creation of a statewide health information network and to address Delaware`s needs for timely, reliable and relevant health care information.
