About the Person
Yong Liu has been the director of board since November 2010. Yong Liu was appointed Chief Technology Officer in September 2010. Mr. Liu has been general manager in charge of JA Solar`s Yangzhou manufacturing site since he joined the company in July 2008. Mr. Liu has more than 15 years of operation management experience at semiconductor wafer and solar cell manufacturing facilities. Prior to joining JA Solar, he served as fab director at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), responsible for running three 12-inch wafer foundry fabs, which were the most advanced wafer fabs in China. Mr. Liu had held various management positions in R&D and manufacturing since joining SMIC in 2001. Previously, Mr. Liu worked as deputy production manager at Wacker Siltronic Singapore. Mr. Liu received his master`s degree in solid state chemistry and bachelor`s degree in solid state physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1992 and 1990, respectively.
