William Deam brings to Mapi a wealth of experience and knowledge of information technology as it is applied to the clinical research industry. Previously, William Deam is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Quintiles. In this role, Mr. Deam is responsible for the company’s IT services in nearly 60 countries around the world. In addition, Mr. Deam also leads the company’s overall enterprise business improvement efforts. Prior to joining Quintiles, Mr. Deam served as CIO for AC Nielsen where he led the development of an Internet-based business model and a Web framework for business intelligence services for both internal and external clients. Mr. Deam also served as CIO for Burmah Castrol, an international manufacturer of specialized lubricants and chemicals. Earlier in his career, he held senior IT and management positions at Safeway Stores (U.K.) and Mars Inc. Mr. Deam earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Leicester University (U.K.). He is a founding board member of the CIO Executive Council in the U.S. and is also a contributor to CIO Magazine.
