About the Person

William Bell, also known as Bill, served as Chief Technology Officer at Health Grades. Prior to that , he was Senior Vice President of Web Technologies and Strategic Technology Solutions at Health Grades. Mr. Bell serves as Vice President of Technology at Kaango, Inc. Mr. Bell joined Kaango in late 2009 with over 20 years of experience in technology. He has extensive experience in Internet technologies including Cloud computing, search engines, and high-performing web sites. His skills include assembling effective teams, mentoring, solving problems, and managing risk. As a Consultant, Mr. Bell led technology rewrites, usability and data processing solutions for companies from 2001 to 2008 for companies like DEX Media, Focus on the Family, and Executive Wealth Management. He worked in several countries including Germany, China and India. He served as Vice President of Technology, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Technology Architect of Statera, Inc., where he served for 8 years. He was responsible for understanding and predicting trends in the industry from a technology perspective and making sure Statera's technical consultants stay ahead of those curves. Mr. Bell planed and coordinated all technical training for Statera's consultants ensuring they were up-to-date on the latest advancements. He worked at several other start-up companies in senior roles, including Sapient, Immedient, Wedding Network, CNET, Intershop Communications, Planetarabia.com, and Internet Gift Registries. Mr. Bell is a big proponent for agile methodologies, user centered design, and has authored Statera's flexible development methodology. Mr. Bell is a seasoned technology thought leader. Mr. Bell is an entrepreneur. He is often involved in strategic thinking and participates in due diligence activities, mentoring and technology evaluations. He is fluent in a broad range of technologies including portals, web sites, eCommerce, security and distributed development using Java, C++, C#, HTML, XML, and mobile solutions. Mr. Bell is well versed in the latest trends including Microsoft .NET, WAP/WML, Oracle, Sun, open source technologies, eCommerce, personalization, content management, enterprise application integration, user centered design, unified development process (aka RUP), and eXtreme Programming. Mr. Bell graduated from the University of Buffalo (SUNY at Buffalo) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the University of Colorado (Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs).
