Overview Sterling Public Schools is the public school system for the city of Sterling, IL. It is a PreK thru 12th grade unit district of approximately 3500 students, configured into six different buildings. The Missouri City Independent School District and Sugar Land Independent School District were consolidated by election on April 18, 1959, forming the Fort Bend Independent School District.
