Edmonton, AB-based AdvEn Solutions has Appointed Weixing Chen as Chief Technology Officer
About the Company
AdvEn Solutions, Inc. was founded in October 2011 with the mission to bring about next generation energy storage technology to the market place. All was started by the founders’ discovery of unique behavior of some basic materials used in energy storage. The technology is currently being demonstrated by the Company’s sample products of “AdvEn Batteries”.
About the Person
Weixing is the co-inventor of iF technology and co-founder of AdvEn Solutions Inc. He has over 20 years of research and industrial experiences on various materials including their microstructure-property relationship, corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, welding, failure analysis and life prediction under creep and fatigue loading. In his capacity at AdvEn Solutions, Weixing focused on developing nanostructured materials including fabrication of carbon nanotubes, nanostructured coatings, electrodes and their applications. Weixing has extensive experiences in managing technology projects involving multiple organizations. In the past 15 years, he has completed projects with R&D dollars over $7 million. Among his inventions and collaborations, one technology has been applied to industrial use and generated over $100 million of revenue for the adopter of this technology. Weixing has published over 100 technical papers and hosted over 30 technical thematic studies, and has been a reviewer or professional editor for over 10 international scientific journals. He has a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from University of Manitoba in Canada.
