About the Company

This deeply held conviction guided our founder Fred McWhorter, an old-fashioned pharmacist who devoted more than 50 years to his passion of bringing health and healing to his customers–not simply selling medicine. Recognizing the value of emerging technology, he envisioned building a real-time information bridge between pharmacists (Pharm) and physicians (MD) to significantly improve patient treatment. Following Fred’s untimely death in 2005, his brother Clayton McWhorter, a veteran healthcare pioneer, brought Fred’s dream to fruition. In 2006, Clayton teamed with entrepreneur Samuel “Bo” Bartholomew to establish PharmMD in Nashville, TN. With the arrival of successful healthcare executive Robert Yeager as CEO in 2013, PharmMD pressed to the forefront in Medicare Part D Star Ratings improvement, as well as Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs. Today PharmMD remains a leader in quality improvement and a healthcare industry innovator, delivering fast and effective solutions to CMS-regulated health plans and employer groups. Our pioneering technology, proprietary protocols and personalized patient profiles, combined with our outcomes-driven reporting, provide a catalyst for effective medication decisions; ultimately upholding Fred’s vision for improving lives. We exist to create a healthier world through the most effective use of the right medication.
About the Person
Victor Mattingly joined the PharmMD team in January of 2015 in the newly created, senior executive role of Chief Technology Officer. Mattingly’s mandate is to continue to deliver high quality, efficient, reliable, and secure applications, infrastructure, processes and operations while building on PharmMD’s current momentum as a market innovator for Part D Star Ratings improvement and effective Medication Therapy Management. “I was confidant PharmMD was on a strong path to success when I accepted the position, and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such a terrific team of professionals,” comments Mattingly. “I’m eager to be a part of team that continues to raise the bar on quality healthcare.” Mattingly has more than 20 years of expertise in the healthcare industry and comes to PharmMD from Onlife Health where he served as CIO. He held previous leadership roles at Healthways (VP, Planning and Architecture, and VP of Construct Solutions). He has worked for a diversity of large and small organizations including IASIS Healthcare, Symbion, PhyCor, HCA, Quorum, ORNDA, and First Health, Inc. Mattingly holds a BA in Management Information Systems and Services as well as a BA in Music Business from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
