Located in the small northeast Iowa town of Decorah, Luther College is an undergraduate Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts institution of about 2,150 students. The college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Founded in 1861 by Norwegian immigrants, Luther offers more than 60 majors and preprofessional and certificate programs leading to the bachelor of arts degree. SUNY Orange, or Orange County Community College, is a unit of the State University of New York (SUNY) offering two-year associates degrees and certificates. The college has two campuses in Middletown, New York and in Newburgh, New York. The college also offers additional courses at Warwick, Port Jervis, and Central Valley. The college is one of the top ten two-year nursing colleges in the SUNY system. SUNY Orange is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The College employs an open enrollment policy in which any student who applies for admittance to the College is accepted. SUNY Orange also provides a wide array of non-credit classes for community members seeking personal enrichment, career advancement, technical or professional certifications or additional training.

Founded as Collège du Sacré-Coeur in 1913, it was the first, and for many years the only, institution of higher learning in Northern Ontario. In 1957, it changed its name and began to exercise its full teaching and degree-granting powers. It entered into the Laurentian Federation as a founding member in 1960. The University of Sudbury is a bilingual university based in the tradition of its founding Jesuit Fathers, and committed to promoting the traditions and culture of the First Nations. Inspired by the Jesuit philosophy of education (the formation of the whole person in service to community), the University of Sudbury also has a special commitment to community engagement and service to others. The University of Sudbury`s mission consists of four commitments: to promote the search for truth and meaning, ecumenical and inter-faith relations, bilingualism and a deeper appreciation of Aboriginal culture and traditions. The University offers courses in Philosophy, Indigenous Studies, Religious Studies, Folklore and Études journalistiques – all of which are accredited towards a Laurentian University degree. The Library`s holdings and services support each of those programs. The Lucien Matte Residence is a "home away from home" for a community of 180 students. The Director of Spiritual Services organizes activities and fosters a stimulating environment for personal growth through community engagement in an ecumenical and inter-faith setting. Native elders also enhance the university experience of students by providing support services from an Aboriginal perspective. The University`s chapel is home to the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, a community of the Diocese of Sault-Ste-Marie, and also serves as a place for ecumenical and multi-faith worship and meditation.
