South Windsor, CT-based Oxford Performance Materials has Promoted Tony DeCarmine as Chief Technology Officer
Oxford Performance Materials was founded in 2000 with a simple purpose: to exploit a highly advanced molecule called poly-ether-ketone-ketone (PEKK). PEKK is an ultra high performance thermoplastic technology platform that presents a vast array of business opportunities. Whether working to produce green energy, make planes lighter, make silicon chips faster or develop medical polymers that improve human health, our intimate knowledge of PEKK has allowed us to be deeply and directly involved with the challenges limiting human development and sustainability.
As CTO of Oxford Performance Materials, Anthony (Tony) DeCarmine has led numerous high performance thermoplastic process development activities, including injection molding, extrusion, composites, and laser sintering. Mr. DeCarmine has a deep understanding of analytical methods and failure analysis. He is the author of numerous patents, a number of which relate to the preparation, process, and recycling of OPM’s proprietary OXPEKK® material in laser sintering. Mr. DeCarmine is an engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the industrial (textile manufacturing), aerospace (space systems) and engineered materials (ceramics and polymers) areas. In addition, Mr. DeCarmine sits on several committees related to additive manufacturing and 3D structured light metrology. Mr. DeCarmine holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
