About the Person

Timothy (Tim) Bourcier earned his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering and began a long and varied career in the steel industry including time at North Star Steel Company, Texas Industries Inc. and Gerdau Ameristeel. His background includes general management and operations roles such as VP, Operations at Texas Industries and VP, Engineering and Energy with Gerdau. Two years after leaving Gerdau, he joined Commercial Metals Company (CMC) in his first ever CIO role. The Fortune 500 company recycles, manufactures, fabricates and distributes steel and metal products and related materials and services through a network of locations throughout the US and internationally. Headquartered in Irving, TX, it has about 9,500 employees that include about 510 employees providing services to the company’s divisions and subsidiaries in shared service operations, general corporate administration (including treasury, tax, IT, internal audit and other services), and management.
