Timm Hoffman joined The First National Bank in Sioux Falls in October, 2009 as Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Bank Security Officer. He is responsible for strategic planning, development, and execution of information technology infrastructure and initiatives. In addition he is responsible for physical security and electronic information security for the bank. Mr. Hoffman joined The First National Bank in Sioux Falls after serving as CIO with VeraSun Energy for 18 months. Prior to VeraSun, Mr. Hoffman enjoyed a 12-year career with Gateway computers most recently as the Vice President, IT Applications and Infrastructure. He was responsible for the company’s back office applications, including two enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, a customer relationship management (CRM) system and a data warehouse. He was also responsible for the infrastructure environment that included network management, server management, Gateway’s two data centers, e-mail, the network operations center and the company’s help desk. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Hoffman implemented a new ERP system to manage Gateway’s retail business. Mr. Hoffman began his career at Gateway in 1996 as the Manager of IT Applications before serving in his role of Vice President. Prior to Gateway, he held IT positions with the Nebraska Public Power District, Black Hills Power and Light, and John Morrell and Co. A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Hoffman earned an Associate of Arts degree in data processing from Dakota State University. He later earned his Bachelor of Science degree in CIS and business from Minnesota State Mankato.
