Wheels, Inc. was established in 1939 as the world’s first automotive fleet leasing and management company. Seventy-five years later, Wheels is one of the largest privately-held companies in North America, featuring a portfolio of 315,000 vehicles under management across the continent, capabilities in 40 countries worldwide, and a client base that consists of some of the best-known businesses in the world. In addition to vehicle acquisition and leasing, Wheels provides numerous specialized services that help all sorts of organizations manage their fleets. These include driver/vehicle support functions like maintenance management, fuel cards, and registration processing, as well as strategic account-level consultation to drive optimal fleet efficiency and measure results.
As Chief Information Officer, Tim leads the Information Technology departments at Wheels. His teams are responsible for developing and managing our client-facing systems, internal networks, business continuance applications and systems infrastructure. Tim has nearly 25 years of leadership experience in IT application and infrastructure strategies, enterprise architecture opTimization and e-business integrations for multi-billion dollar enterprises. Throughout his career, he has specialized in managing and integrating complex applications and systems in high-transaction volume environments. Prior to joining Wheels, Tim spent 19 years at United Stationers, Inc., where he rose to the rank of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Tim was responsible for overall IT strategy and initiatives for all United Stationers business units. He led corporate-wide enterprise IT strategy and modernization planning projects, built a state-of-the-art eCommerce web application for resellers and launched a content portal that streamlined supplier integration. Tim holds a BS in applied computer science from Illinois State University and earned alumni status from the Harvard Business School after completing courses in finance, negotiation, and leadership development.
