About the Person

In this role, Bayer will develop and articulate an IT vision and mission in alignment with CSBS’s mission and goals and lead the planning and execution of our information technology programs and initiatives. Bayer will be a member of the executive leadership team and will serve as a key advisor to our Board of Directors. He will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IT policies that address planning, risk, acquisition, development, maintenance, and information privacy and protection and lead the teams responsible for CSBS IT strategy, systems, and service delivery.   “I’m incredibly pleased to have Tom join our team,” said CSBS President and CEO John W. Ryan.  “Tom brings an extensive amount of IT and financial services with him to CSBS, making him a valuable asset.  Tom will be instrumental to IT planning and preparedness, and I look forward to his contributions.”   Bayer earned a B.S. from the Ohio State University and worked for the Governor of Ohio before embarking upon his career in financial services with Bank One in 1985. Bayer built his career in leadership roles at Sprint, Citibank and Inteliguard before taking on his first CIO role at Capital One.  Over the past 15 years, Tom has led IT teams at financial services organizations, including Capital One, Freddie Mac, the SEC and, most recently, S&P Global.
