About the Person
Thierry Maison brings over 35 years of engineering experience in the areas of Telecommunication Systems and Networks, Medical Imaging and government IT, Identity Security Technology and application infrastructures. At Analogic, Dr. Maison designed first body CT-scanner in US and thereby pushing the technology toward high-scale analog processing. Whereas at Steinbrecher, he developed the first ultra-compact cellular base station using agile software-defined radio and architected the sale of the company to Tellabs, Inc. An entrepreneur at heart, Dr. Maison participated in the incorporation of Iron Bridge Networks and Sariga Networks developed first very high-speed carrier grade Internet router thereby moving Internet from the corporate environments to Internet provider environments for large scale deployment. He also developed first dual-purpose TDM and internet packet processor which was an innovative way to lower the capital equipment cost for telecommunication companies. At Summa Four (Now part of Cisco Systems) he created the first Harvard computing architecture used for Time Division Mode (TDM) telephone switching- a novel approach to lower the cost of digital telephony achieving a quantum leap from 32 channel to 1024 channel in a single unit. During his time at Harris Corporation he was instrumental in design and improvement of commercial cellular base-station with integrated telephone switching matrix and at Telco System he generated high-speed SONET add-drop terminal used in optical ring and is an author of many SONET, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) protocol features. At Eastman Kodak in his role as division-level senior architect for BIS product he industrialized first large-scale business flow processing systems and at Bell Atlantic he made substantial contributions in the area of Network Management and self-provisioning system infrastructure. Dr. Maison was the solution architect behind State government credential IT infrastructures at MorphTrust a division of Safran S.A.. He holds 5 patents in telecommunication systems and Internet protocols and participated in the creation of standards like SONET, ATM, and MPLS. Maison holds a Doctorate in Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree from the University of Strasbourg, France, and patents in the field of high-speed switching and MPLS protocol.
